Rules and Guidelines

Rules

  • Only single authored papers are accepted.

  • If the abstract is not orally presented (in person or online) at the Symposium, the abstract will not be included in the Symposium proceedings.

  • The Best Full Paper and the Best Presentation of the Symposium will be awarded a certificate. 

Abstract Guidelines 

  • Word Limit: Abstracts should be 500 words and must follow the format outlined in the guidelines.

  • Submission: Please upload your Abstract using the submission link on the main page before the deadline (April 23, 2025).

  • Review Process: All Abstracts will undergo a single-blind review. Applicants will be notified of the outcome via email by May 10, 2025. The review panel’s decision is final.

  • Next Steps:

    • If your Abstract is accepted, you must complete the registration payment to confirm your participation/presentation at the Symposium.

    • Full Paper submission is mandatory before the event.

  • Word Limit: Full papers should not exceed 5,000 words (excluding the extended abstract) and must adhere to the formatting outlined in the guidelines.

  • Submission: Authors are strongly encouraged to follow the full paper guidelines carefully to ensure a smooth review process.

  • Review Process:

    • All submitted full papers will be reviewed by the BCIS ESS Review Committee.

    • Authors are responsible for addressing the feedback provided by the review committee and making the necessary revisions.

  • Re-Submission:

    • Revised papers must be submitted to the ESS Organizing Committee within the specified timeframe after receiving the reviewer feedback.

  • Publication:

    • Selected full papers that have undergone the review and revision process will be published.
